Amelogenesis Imperfecta is a group of genetic dental disorders that affects enamel formation and tooth development with impacts along the whole life course. During this 3 hour pre-conference a group of 6 international clinicians will analyze the genetic basis of these conditions, including the molecular and genetic basis of isolated and syndromic AI and its diagnostic tools. The specific enamel alterations, as well as the associated oral alterations, such as resorption, eruption disturbances, and periodontal alterations, will be carefully examined over the morning. The team will present the recently published clinical management guidelines, examine the potential of digital design in Amelogenesis Imperfecta, and also address orthodontic considerations for patients with this condition. The course will integrate diagnostic and therapeutic methodologies in a multidisciplinary manner, offering a comprehensive perspective on patient management with chance for discussion and deliberation with this expert team. The session is suitable for all members of the oral healthcare team and the session will consider paediatric, adolescent and adult populations and the session includes a dedicated networking tea/coffee break.

The Magic Therapy® workshop equips healthcare professionals with an evidence-based, engaging tool to increase client and patient motivation, participation, and outcomes across treatment settings. Designed for occupational therapists, physical therapists, pediatricians, pediatric dentists, speech-language pathologists, child life specialists, and other allied health professionals, this hands-on, interactive training translates the therapeutic use of magic into clinical practice.
Grounded in established theoretical frameworks, including the Model of Human Occupation, the Incentive Theory of Motivation, Social Learning Theory, Motor Learning Theory, and the Theory of Occupational Adaptation, the workshop bridges research and real-world application. Participants learn how the skills required to perform simple magic tricks naturally support fine motor coordination, bilateral integration, sequencing, attention, executive function, social engagement, and communication, while reducing anxiety in clinical environments.
Applications span the full continuum of care, including developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, mental and behavioral health, physical rehabilitation, gerontology, pediatric pain and procedural anxiety management, and specific disease-related deficits. In pediatric medical and dental settings, magic-based interventions help reduce fear, build rapport, and improve cooperation during examinations and procedures. In rehabilitation contexts, the same techniques help clients regain lost physical and cognitive abilities while strengthening motivation, confidence, and self-esteem.
Through guided instruction, demonstration, and skill-building practice, attendees leave with a ready-to-use repertoire of therapeutic magic techniques, clear documentation strategies, and a deeper understanding of how to harness wonder and play as legitimate clinical tools. The result is a versatile, human-centered approach that supports measurable progress while transforming the therapeutic experience for clients of all ages and abilities.

Advocacy is a key part in the role of health and social care staff and oral health continues to be overlooked or de-prioritised within health at the local, national and global level. This three-hour interactive workshop will focus on the fundamentals of advocacy and will include practical and effective advocacy strategies to work towards improving oral health services for people with disabilities and oral health inequalities. After studying the principles of advocacy, delegates will participate in scenario based exercises addressing:
Effective communication with policymakers
Working with patient organisations
Managing interactions within health service structures
Advocating for equitable service access
The facilitators bring their collective experience, one as a senior clinical leader and the other as the leader of a global patient organisation.and will together share their ideas, and provide feedback and guide reflection regarding the scenarios.
The session includes a dedicated networking tea/coffee break.

The purpose of this workshop is to highlight the various cardiovascular conditions commonly seen in the dental practice. This will typically include hypertension, ischemic heart disease, congenital heart disease, valvular heart disease, arrhythmia and heart failure, and this will be used as a foundation to understand rationale behind the most up to date evidence-based approaches in managing patients with these conditions in a dental setting. This workshop also aims to clarify and correct any misconceptions when it comes to managing such patients, as well as identify and adopt the opportune measures to avoid the anticipated complications or treat them quickly and effectively should they arise. It will include case scenarios, as well as opportunities for discussing real life dilemmas in treatment and decision making not covered by regular text books.
The workshop is aimed towards both general dentists and specialists interested in refining their clinical techniques in managing patients with cardiovascular disease, as well as special care dentists looking to update and strengthen their knowledge in the field. It may also be beneficial for dental hygienists or nurses who are directly involved in managing such cases, as well as dental students, interns, or residents to prepare them for their future practice. The session includes a dedicated networking tea/coffee break.
